Le Phényl Acétate de Para Crésyle est synthétisé par une réaction d'estérification entre l'Acide Phénylacétique (obtenu à partir du chlorure de benzyl et du cyanure de sodium) et le Crésol-para. Cette réaction est catalysée par la présence en faible quantité d'un acide fort concentré comme l'acide sulfurique.

Le Phényl Acétate de Para Crésyle n'est pas précurseur de la synthèse d'un autre composé d'intérêt olfactif.

Isoméries :

Un isomère du Phényl Acétate de Para-Crésyle tel que le Phénylacétate de méta-Crésyl possède une odeur moins animale et très florale proche de l'Ylang-Ylang Extra HE.
