Synthesis route :

Hexyl Salicylate is synthesized by an esterification reaction between salicylic acid and hexanol. This reaction is catalysed by the presence of a strong concentrated acid in the reaction medium such as sulfuric acid.

Hexyl Salicylate is not a precursor to the synthesis of another compound of olfactory interest.

Hexyl Salicylate does not have any isomer used in perfumery.

Natural availability :
